4 Days Post Op Food And Exercise Question

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I was sleeved on Monday and was wondering. My surgeon told me that I can eat anything that I could put through a straw (without really using the straw to prevent air). So I have been drinking an 8 ounce Protein Shake with skim milk and I also blend a can of cream Soup in the blender with a can of skim milk and drinking that all day as well. I have also managed to get in a 16.9 bottle of propel zero. I feel a little full but keep drinking to try and meet the requirements for my liquid intake. Am I doing wrong by continuing to drink even though I know I feel full? Im considering the cream soup part of my liquid intake as well. I just dont want to gain weight. This has me nuts. I've been walking around the house here and there but really haven't started taking really good power walks. Should I be doing that 4 days out already? Sorry, kind of a two part question.

If you feel up to light exercise right now then you should do what you can handle. As far as gaining weight, I doubt that you would be able to consume enough to gain anything right now. good luck! and congrats on your sleeve!

Thank you. Tonight I went for a power walk around the block with my husband. It wasnt a whole lot but it was something and it made me feel good. You have lost a massive amount of weight. That is so awesome. I can't wait to start seeing results.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
