No. It's not too much. I can easily hold 6 oz now. Sometimes a little more. One egg is not too much at this stage. Good to see you again!

I don't do eggs every day because you do get a lot of saturated fat even from just one- but I have 1/4-1/3c of egg whites with cheese every morning. Some days I can eat it all, others I have to share bites with my kids.

Actually that is incorrect. I just got done talking with my dad, who is a doctor, and he told me that egg whites are the purest form of Protein that you can get. He said you can eat an egg an hour and get all your Protein in and do yourself justice to your weight loss better than Protein shakes becuse Protein Shakes have carbs and sugar in them. The carbs and sugars can slow

Down your weight loss especially if you are insulin resistant. He said 6 egg whites have 42g of protein. He also recommended staying away from dairy while in the weight loss portion of your diet because dairy has carbs and sugars and will slow your process down. eggs are not saturated fat unless you are cooking them in grease.

There are 6 grams of Protein in an egg. Those grams are split evenly between the yolk and the white. So if you eat only the whites from 6 eggs, you're only getting 18 grams of Protein. Perhaps I'm wrong here (please correct me if I am) but there is no way on earth you could get 42g of protein from 6 egg whites. In order to get that much protein you'd need to eat 7 whole eggs (both yolk and white).

In my opinion- the benefits to eating dairy products FAR outweigh any 'risk'. One serving of 2% milkfat Breakstone cottage cheese has 6g of carbohydrates and 12g of protein. Well worth the carb intake IMO.

I'm not into low-carbing.

Well bed head, im gonna trust the advice of my dad who has been a doctor since 1975. I tend to believe him more than anything. Im carb resistant with my pcos and dairy hangs with me longer. I can not eat those in large quantities if I want to lose. I also talked to my surgeon today about this and he was all for it. I say do what works for you. This works for me.

Not true. One large egg has nearly 7 grams of protein. Four grams of that is in the white, 2.7 grams is in the yolk. One cup (8 ounces) of egg whites (only) has 26 grams of protein and just 2 carbs.

And yes, the protein in eggs is incredibly good for you and the amino acids in eggs are 100% bio available.

Beadhead if you would like to know about good fat vs bad fat I would suggest reading. The Perfect 10 diet. It is a great book with great infromation about saturated fats, and other oils. I am sure the fat in the egg is better than the fat in the cheese you put on your eggs. Even if it is low fat.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
