Not sure what you mean by "Spiraling issue" Is this more nausea and upset stomach. It could be acid and you might want to speak to your doctor about medication for this before you are discharged or if you are already out call him.

I had my surgery on Monday and a friend of mine had hers on Monday as well. We were both in the same hospital room together and we threw up the first 2 days A LOT and especially after being given the liquid pain meds. It passes. What she and I ended up having to do is switching from the hydrocodone to Tylenol 3. By the time I left the hospital on Wednesday, I only threw up 2 more times and that was it. I didnt even need to use the pain meds once I was home to be honest. I hope you start feeling better soon. Hang in there. The nausea passes.

I'm in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Pretty close to Anna, IL. If you don't mind me asking, where did you have your surgery and who was your surgeon??

I hope you feel better soon. I've not had my surgery as of yet so I was just curious who your surgeon was and how the surgery went?

I had my sleeve done on the 3rd of april and I have had nausea, too. I found that sipping warm broth was better than drinking cold or room temperature drinks. I am 3 days post op and doing better. My fear is that I won't get enough liquids and Protein. I was told that if you dehydrate, that makes you more nauseated, so it is a downward cycle. the hardest part for me is taking my medications in crushed form, suspended in liquid....seems to not sit well on my stomach.

When I say spiraling I mean that my stomach is kind of twisted. I had Dr Sudakarahan at the New Life Weight loss center in Herrin. He was great! He checked up on my all of the time and made sure that the nurses were on top of things!

*literally* twisted? or just feeling nauseous? Nausea is going to stick with you for a while... I'm two months out and still feel nauseousness once every day or two... I've read it doesn't COMPLETELY go away until like 6 months out or so.

Actually twisted! I'm feeling good now though. I went back to work yesterday and have my first post op appointment with my doctor today. 

During my leak test they saw something so my doctor did an endoscopy and that's when de discovered the spiraling.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
