So since everyone (doctors, friends and boyfriend) have been on my back to increase my colories to at least 800-900 (I had been doing 500-600) I have been trying to eat a little more. Unfortunately it made me soooooo sick this afternoon (spent about one hour throwing up and gagging on slime) that my stomach can't tolerate dinner. So fustrated

You know what works for you. Maybe instead of increasing volume you can increase the calories in what you already consume.Exercise can also help you with increasing calories. Try asking your dr what he/she recommends.

You need to do what feels right to you and your sleeve. No one knows what that magic number is but your body. Do what works and don't worry about what people think you should be doing.

Instead of eating more, what about eating more often things that are healthy like nuts or fruits. It is really hard to make a significant increase with getting over full. You are doing pretty well though overall. Hang in there. ;)

Oh,I wish I had this issue.I am not making light of your problem but on the other end of the stick I just have to stop myself from consuming to many calories.

If you are very low carb then it is a little diffcult to just up calories but add a little complex carbs like sweetpotato or get yourself a Protein bar that would add 200 cals easlily.

BUT if you feel fine with where you are with your calories and if you have enough energy and if you are happy with your weightloss,do as you please with your calories.only you can know what you should do.

xxo

It's pretty easy to add calories and not add volume. Spread some peanut better on celery or make a Thai peanut sauce and dip meat into it. Use full fat cheese or milk. The Chobani Greek yogurt with frit in 160 calories for 6 ounces. a 1/4 cup of quinoa is 140. Add a little olive oil and stir fried onion and peppers into it and calorie count kicks up. Add a few almonds with your yogurt, fruit or cheese and that will kick it up some more without the volume. These are healthy things.

I get in about 700-800 calories a day and I eat slowly over the course of the day. I don't really have set meal times and eat when hungry. It works for me. Eating too much, too fast will cause that puking and slime-ing.

I too barely consume anything. I am on day 21 and trying to eat some chicken for the first time right now and my stomach is more settled with this than the shakes. I have only been getting in maybe 300 to 400 a day( mAybe). I don't know what else to do... I just get nauseous on everything it seems.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
