Can I Take A Lunesta If I Dissolve It-I'm Only 8 Days Post Op?

Recommended Posts

I think they said I could when they gave me my discharge papers but really not totally sure. They crossed through my anti-inflammatory medication and told me not to take that but didn't say anything about my Lunesta. Need a good night's sleep but not sure if it will affect me different on my new stomach??? Thank you!!!

I bet if you call the hospital and talk to the nursing staff they can tell you. :) Not sure if you are suppose to take that with the pain meds.

Lunesta is a tiny winy pill ... you should have no problem ... I take ambien and took it right after surgery .. I am a chronic insomniac so I have to take it every night ... I really don't think you will have any problems taking the lunesta ... try having a hot cup of tea when you take it so that it goes down nice & easy (& probably will melt right away in your insides as you drink something warm like tea or even some chicken broth or some hot cocoa (sugar free) ) .... happy dreams!

My acid inhibitor pills were normal capsule size and I took them right after surgery. Some pills are time release and shouldn't be crushed.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
