How Far Out Can You Get A Leak?

Wonder if I could get a leak test at 6 wks out to b on the safe side.

Is there a reason you suspect a leak? It is unlikely you can have a test done and paid for just to ease your mind with no symptoms or problems. If you are following your surgeon's instructions and not going off the diet plan, following up with your surgeon when required and have no symptoms then I would not worry.

I have not had surgery yet, just asking after reading different comments.

Oh - talk to your Dr about your concerns. The rate of leaks is extremely low and you will be monitored closely at your followup appointments. You will also be given a list of symptoms to call sure if you have any! Most importantly - don't go off plan postop. This is why everyone gets upset when someone says they ate steak (popcorn, etc) 2 weeks postop or they ate a foot long sandwich a month out. The first few months are the most critical healing time!

I was 3 weeks out and lifted something over 10 lbs, stomach was hurting so I went and saw my surgeon asap and he said at this point you are far enough out you can not hurt your sleeve. I ended up pulling a muscle.
