Hey everyone I was sleeved on Monday at 8 am...I'm still in the hospital due to the amount of pain I'm having...and the strokes hurt really bad...it does feel like everyone else said, like period cramps and a thousand sit ups that I wasn't ready for...I am so glad I had this forum so I knew about the cough pillow and gas x strips...they have saved me...the only thing in concerned with is I am weighing in at 10 l s more than I was when I got here

I weighed 9 pounds more when I came out of surgery than I did when I went into surgery. I think it's due to all the liquids they give you via IV. Sorry you are having so much pain and I hope for a speedy recovery for you. I am 6 days post op and feeling ok. Good luck and God bless.

I'm glad your doing ok. I gained two lbs being in hospital, but I lost 3 this morning, I am not getting in all my protien. Nothing taste good, the nectar makes me gag. I have a question? Is it ok to have the juice from pinto Beans. They smell so good and I'm starving

Hey try hitting the pain pump as much as you can before the walk, wait a few minutes and then walk it out.

Congrats!!! It gets better each day... Trust me!!! Just walk as much as you can.. and practice getting out of bed alone, if you're not already doing that... It definitely helped me prepare for moving around at home...Blessings and a speedy recovery...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
