aleach0003 12 Posted April 3, 2012 Hi all! This is my first post but I've been reading and lurking for a while now. I had a question. I have specific areas of time in which it would be the best for me to take off work and have surgery. I self-schedule @ work ( RN) and plan on taking vacation time as well. When scheduling, do you have to take the date the hospital gives you or can you tell them, "I would like to have surgery on this day"? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Liberated Sleeve 148 Posted April 3, 2012 Once I had all my approvals I asked my surgeon for a specific date and he was able to accommodate me. Welcome to the forum and good luck!
hellonurse 76 Posted April 4, 2012 Welcome! I was able to squeeze in on the day I wanted, well actually it was the day after, but that wasn't too bad!! I'm a nurse also, I just had to warn everyone at work, that I would be gone for weeks. Hope the roof doesn't fall in while I'm gone, LOL!
