How much Biotin is everyone taking post-op? I don't want to take too much or too little.

I take 10,ooo mcg daily or 10mg. It basically helps with hair regrowth, skin and nails. My hair grows fast in the wrong place too! LOL ;)

I take GNC Dry capsules, 5,000mcg 4x per week. However, during rapid Hair loss I was taking one daily. I've taken other brands as well, and I've found this brand and dose to be the absolute best.

Biotin does not discriminate. It will make hairs every where on your body grow. It has caused an increase in growth in my pubic area, under arms, chin, and eyebrows. ;)

Me too! Thank goodness I'm naturally a non hairy person, thanks to my Asian roots - but I have noticed my hair I do have is coming in thicker and I'm having to shave more often than I used to.

I guess its a good trade off for having even more splendid hair on my head! Not only that, my skin is looking really great and my nails grow faster and thicker as well.

My NUT told me to take 2000 mcg a day. She said if you take more than that it's a waist of money because you just lose it in your urine. IDK, I've only been taking it for two weeks.

I'm worried now on losing my hair as I'm on a clear liquid diet now for 4 weeks (due to complicaitons and issues from my original surgery on 3/5). I can't quite get the Protein bullets down (they are disgusting) and prior to surgery, I've taken Biotin for a long time. I'll have to go back to it (as I've slacked) and check out the mcgs.

Thanks for all of your inputs on this subject and I have to say to "The *Coasting* Super Moderator, holy cow your before and after pix. Wow. Good luck to you all on this journey and thank you for your input!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
