I mixed the unflavored Unjury powder into some sugar free pudding, not bad, a little chemical taste. You can try samples of different types to see if you like it, I have read that some peoples tastes change after surgery. I have another unflavored powder to try called Beneprotein, then I will probably order larger sizes.

I preface this response with the warning that I'm a picky baby when it comes to protein... but... I tried the unflavored Unjury in just about everything that was suggested to mix it with - from smoothies, to coffee, to mashed potatoes, etc. - and I couldn't take it. Blah!! I tried the chicken Soup flavored in chicken broth and same thing...blah!!!

Really? See I tried the Unjury chicken soup & I love that! So definitely a matter of taste I guess.

I love the Unjury chicken Soup. And I added the unflavored to cream of chicken soup once. I couldn't tell the difference.

I spent about $12 and ordered a few samples from Unjury. Haven't tried the unflavore yet but I want to make sure I like something before I buy a big cannister of it. You should do that if you can. :)

I added the unflavored unjury powder to my Clear liquids preop (apple juice, cranberry juice). I couldn't taste it. It gave both a cloudy appearance but that didn't bother me. I like that it helped give me a Protein boost during the clear liquid portion of the preop diet.

Here is what surprised me. I brought some packets with me to Mexico planning to add it to my Clear Liquids after surgery but Dr. Kelly said not to add Protein in until Day 10. So essentially I packed them for nothing. I'll use them in my clear liquids at day 10 though.

I mixed it in with yogurt (greek - flavored) and I couldn't taste it (prior to preop). The amount seemed overwhelming in relation to the yogurt and I made sure it was stirred WELL before eating (did not want nasty clumps of Protein Powder in my yogurt

I use both the strawberry- now just with Water and a little crystal light lemonaid at my desk at work. I also have the unflavored. I used that more during the liquid and soft diet part to add Protein and give myself more energy. I did find that if I used the entire scoup of the unflavored in anything it was a bit too much, but if I backed off a bit it worked fine and I couldn't taste it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
