All of your jitters are perfectly normal. I know I couldn't even think straight before mine. I didn't want to tell anyone what I was doing - I was honestly ashamed that my weight was as bad as it was and felt ashamed that I couldn't "get it in control" by my own efforts. I've lost and gained 60 to 80 lbs many times before in my life, but as I get older, it's harder (esply with this lovely hypothyroid).

With all of that being said, I had complications after my surgery (no you won't have these! you will be ok) but I have since told people what my surgery was for and I am rather shocked at the way that it is accepted. With so many commercials and billboards in today's society about this as a way to battle the obesity that is plaguing our country, I guess it's being more accepted? Just stand firm in your decision. This is for YOUR health. Be proud of yourselves. This is not an easy decision, it's not the "easy way out" and you CAN use it as the tool it's supposed to be, just follow what your dr. says. Please do your breathing exercises, advance your diet as instructed in the ounces suggested... and stay positive! Use this opportunity as a way to regain energy and live life to the fullest.

For your daughter, tell her all will be ok, this is for you to be around much longer for her. Best of luck wished to you all.

Oh, that's great that they moved the time up for you. I'm hoping mine is scheduled for the morning as well. I'm not sure if I will be getting a drain. My surgeon does it on an individualized basis. I'm worried about the littlest things, like not being able to wear deodorant and no lotions on body/face. I'm packing it along  . I don't know the answer to the shower. I would think you would be able to shower the next day, I hope.

Courtney - can you just add my name to all of your posts, because I'm right along with you! My brain keeps going to the little things to worry about, I think to avoid the obvious stuff. I can't have any hair product. Oh, no! And no deod? What if I'm so nervous I'm stinky?!

Next year, we won't worry about how our hair looked, if our skin was moisturized or if we were a little smelly. We'll just be so happy we did it! Good luck - I want an update when you can!

Love it!!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one worried about the little things. The hospital called this afternoon and I asked her again just to be sure. Thank you, I will update when I get home on Thursday. I cannot bring any electronics to hospital.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
