Feb 2012- How Are You Doing?

Recommended Posts

My surgery was 2/4 and I am down 76 lbs. The weight loss has been slow for the last few weeks but I haven't been in the gym as much as before. I am trying to get through a busy time at work and get back on my program. My goal was to lose 100 lbs in 6 months but I was 24 lbs away. So my new goal is to do it by month 9.

I had surgery a few, days after you. You're doing alot better than me and I am exercising daily. It's been really slow.

I was sleeved the 28th of Feb. I have lost 49lbs. I see so many others on here around the same date as mine and they are blowing me out of the Water. Am I doing something wrong?

Looking good girl. I started at a size 16 and now I am in a 10. So yes progress has definetly been made. I guess I am just impatient. I am stepping up my Water, Protein and exercise. We will get to where we need to be. Good Luck!

I don't think so. We're all different. I blame my slowness, on 1) revision band to sleeve 2) started at a lower BMI 3) thyroid and 4) just my metabolism in general, I've always been a slow loser. I'm happy with my results even though it's taken a lot longer than I thought it would.

I was sleeved 2/23 and I'm down 51 pounds from 226 to 175 and that's not exercising as much. It felt so good to hit the onezees ;•} I have been able to eat just about everything. The only thing I'm afraid to try is bread which was my weakness especially garlic bread. it's okAy I don't need it anyway. The only complication I have had was I had to have my gallbladder removed a few weeks ago. As soon as I'm feeling better I have vowed to start going to the gym more. I bought the Insanity workout would like to challenge myself for 30 days I'll see I heard it's a beast....wish me luck I know I'm going to need it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
