FluffyBleu76 32 Posted April 1, 2012 I love hummus and I wanted to know if that would be a good post-op soft/pureed food. I also like mashed up pinto or black Beans. Would that work?
azquilter92 82 Posted April 1, 2012 i think hummus is one of the approved first soft foods, although dont know about Beans, produce too much gas
Lissa 2,631 Posted April 1, 2012 Refried Beans were my first mushy food. I didn't notice any extra gas because of them. Of course, I could only eat maybe 3 teaspoons of them. My nut and doc were fine with refried beans as a mushy food... and I really like almost any kind of cooked bean now. I will often start some in the morning with a piece of meat in the crockpot. By the time I get home to eat dinner, the beans and meat are done and I'll mash up a little meat in my beans. Yummy!
lml32937 65 Posted April 16, 2012 Hummus is amazing and a good source of protein- Unless you can eat it alone (as opposed to crackers or chips) that may be hard to do- I cannot eat it unless it is with a veggie to dip or a cracker.
