SlevieNicks 9 Posted April 1, 2012 So far I've lost 13 pounds since starting Protein Shakes and following my NUTs advice....I met with her at the beginning of March.... I've switched from half & half in my coffee to 1% milk, swapped out the vanilla for sugar free, I'm still using up my regular white chocolate because I didn't want to waste it : ) I still crave so much food though and I'm still hungry!! I can't wait to be post op! I know I feel amazing that I've lost weight but I know if I don't have this surgery I will go back to eating like crap... Anyone else like this? Dooter 1,457 Posted April 1, 2012 Yup. I could have written that same post when I was on pre op liquids. I lost 15 in that two weeks. My husband said "well, don't hit me or anything, but why couldn't you keep doing this instead of having the surgery?" I just had no words to answer him. Someone on here said it perfectly: "Can you hold your breath for one minute? Sure. Can you hold it for the rest of your life???"
SlevieNicks 9 Posted April 1, 2012 I'm not on liquids just eating small portions and drinking a Protein shake for Breakfast...I used to normally eat dinner and then snack the rest of the night... Wonder what will happen on liquid diet the week before lol
Dooter 1,457 Posted April 1, 2012 You'll do great. The motivation to stay on the liquids once you get there is this: If you don't- the surgeon could cancel your surgery if he sees conditions are not right- or- he could convert to an open incision surgery. NO THANKS! I did not take ONE sip or bite of ANYthing I was not supposed to. You can do a LOT more than you think you can. Trust me! 1 Nina88 reacted to this
