cab0ad 3 Posted March 31, 2012 How long did you wait to take a bath? I am 18 days out. My doc said to wait till the incisions "healed". what does healed mean? There is no bleeding in my incisions and the scab has fallen off of them but they still are redder than their surroundings. I miss my bathtub!
cissiesue 119 Posted March 31, 2012 Good question, from what you said, it sounds like you'd be ok.
ddd8704 10 Posted March 31, 2012 Mine healed fast but I still waited one full month.
Babypink002 3 Posted March 31, 2012 When you say bath, you mean laying soaking in your tub? Because I showered the very next day!
cab0ad 3 Posted March 31, 2012 I mean soaking in the bathtub and enjoying it! I want to relax!
JayhawkJess33 25 Posted March 31, 2012 I think you are fine. My incisions healed very fast and my surgeon removed all SteriStrips at my one week postop appt. he also removed my drain at this appointment and told me the hole would close up within about two days and when that happened, it was fine to go in the pool or bath. He was right on and in two days my drain wound was completely scabbed over and I took a bath the next day. Since then, I have taken one almost every day - I love my hot baths too! I am a fast healer but at 11 days postop, I am pretty much completely back to normal and my incisions look like they are months old, not a week and a half. Btw, I am a Kansas girl transplanted to Florida. Hope you are getting along well after surgery!
iHeartNettie 6 Posted April 1, 2012 I took a shower the very first day out of the hospital but my Doc told me not to totally submerge my incisions in Water for a week.
Iliana82 84 Posted April 1, 2012 Omg so jealous. I am 7.5 weeks out and my larger incision is still with a scab. Ugh frustrating
