hello i just thought id say that my husband has been very supportive to me right from the moment when i made the decision to have the surgery, i was most suprised when chatting to other ladies about the lap band, as alot say that their husbands either try to put them off, or when they have lost their weight the male becomes jellous and possesive ! This has made a difference to my life now, not just in how i look but mentally as well i could not have done this with out the support i recieved.:kiss2: thankyou 2 my husband family and freinds !!!! :kiss2: :clap2:

Hey I want to add to this thread. My fiance has also been sooo supportive. He actually helped me pay for the surgery (I'm self pay). He doesn't push or ask questions about my weight loss until I'm ready to volunteer. When i tell him about losses, he hugs me and says "baby that is wonderful. I'm glad you're happy". When I tell him about gains he hugs me and says "It's okay, you're gonna make it." He's been amazingly understanding about the resistance to go out to eat (a favorite hobby of ours).

On a different level all together, he loves me and my baby girl (well, she's 4 now, but still my baby girl nonetheless) in a way I never thought truly existed.

God I love this man, and I thank God daily for putting him in my life!

Sorry, I had to gush; he's all deserving!

Must chime in here too. I could have never done any of this without the love and support I receive daily from DH. It breaks my heart to think that anyone would have to deal with interference from loved ones. This journey is proving to be so difficult for me - my man is my rock and I tell him everyday just how much his support means to me.

I can't let this one slide by me either. My husband is sooo awesome; he always has been supportive in ANYTHING I do...and I know he always will be. I couldn't have done this without him; I appreciate him soooo much and am very grateful to have him in my life. He is my rock.

My DH is very supportive of my decision. We agree since our insurance wouldn't cover it that we could only afford for him to get it done. He had more health issues. Well, one day this spring he told me he wanted me to have it also, and that he was willing to cut back on things so that we could pay for it. The other day I made a comment about backing out(joking around) and he said that if he had to, he'd tie me up and take me in.

Well I can't let this thread go by. After being divorced for 25 years I married 2 years ago August. My DH is very supportive of my decision. He has been such a great help to me. He gets up in the morning, crushes my meds, makes me coffee, and packs my lunch. He cooks our evening meals. He has helped me through some of my band related problems. I can't imagine going through this journey without him or his support. He loved me before the band, after the band, and he will love me when there is less of me. ;)

My DH is supportive on anything I choose. it is only 5 days till lapband, and i am REALLY getting the jitters. I am self pay, and do not want any complications that will bankrupt us. (YIKES) Does anyone know any statistics about how often these things have to be removed? Why, and Also, How often they get infected, and how much does it run to remove them, if you have problems. I know I am getting to be a scaredy cat!

I wish I could say the same. When I decided I wanted the band, there was a huge argument (several actually) including him giving me every excuse in the book as to why I shouldn't have the surgery, finally, 6 months later, he agreed to support my decision. I have been banded 8 months and have lost 62 lbs and he has been really wonderful through it all. Then, last night, I wore a pair of jean shorts to the bowling alley and I had my knees propped up and he asked me to put my legs down. I had no idea why he would ask that, but I didn't like it at all, out of respect for him though, I did what he asked. So after we left, I asked him why he asked me to put my legs down and if anything was showing. He said that you could see my thighs and that guys will look if you give them a chance. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous that he wouldn't want anyone to see my thighs. I did have shorts on (not to short). I am hoping that this is not a precursor of what’s to come. He has never been the jealous type, but this really bothered me. Im not sure if I should bring it up again or not, or even what I would say if I did.

hi doing it 4 me i understand what you are saying.ive been very lucky and had the support ive needed, but some men are like this because they are insecure & jellous. alot of men are happy to keep there wives on the bigger side because it makes them feel content and secure, makes them feel safe they think other men wont look. then when you start 2 get attention from other males they think that you are going 2 run away with them. my husband just laughs when that happens because im with him not them. yes they look but cant touch lol. ;) MEN WILL BE MEN LOL:eek:

I agree with you, however I find that the men want their women to loose weight but when they do, and they really start to look good men begin to freak out..Love their support...Need their support....want their support, but for me I also have to do it for myself.

I need to add to this thread too. My husband has been nothing but supportive through all of this. He has been excited for me and when I start to get down about something he points out all I have done and puts it back in perspective for me. He encourages me in everything I do. Not only him, but all my family has been just wonderful as well as my friends. I have not had anyone make any nasty comments or question me or my decisions. I am thankful to be surrounded by people who love me and only want the very best for me. I wish everybody had the kind of support system that I do and I am just so thankful that these people are a part of my life.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
