Got sleeved on Wed. Got home last night. Not feeling well at all. The morphine they gave me made me sick each time I threw up. My sides feel like I got hit by a Mack truck. I am not able to eat/drink much. I am on full liquid diet. I am going to go back to bed and rest now.

I felt the EXACT same way and the morphine just made it worse, see if they can give you liquid lortab along with anti-nausea meds. The first few days are the worst and I was completely miserable, just sit back relax and breathe. We'll get thru this, welcome to the losers bench

hi lisa

my dr. gave me zanax (msp - wrong word?) when i came from hospital. ? Totally helped. It was sublingual, under the tongue, so it dissolved really quickly and took affect soon. that helped my nauseas cmpletely. Morphine made me sick.

hope as time goes by, you feel better..

good luck

it was Zofran that they gave you not xanax.... Zofran is a 4/8Mg tabet ODT for Nausea and Xanax is an anti-anxiety medication which they sometimes give for severe nausea & vomiting bt that doesnt go under your tongue. So I am going to be safe and say that it was Zofran

It will get a little better every day. Just keep taking the lortab, it's a lifesaver. I mix mine with a little margarita flavor crystal light :P I'm 5 days post op and feeling more and more like myself everyday.

My surgery was 3/27 and except for one painful incision I feel pretty much as I did before. Been trying to stay out of the house 4 - 6 hours a day, but taking it easy while I'm out (walking slowly, leaning on carts, etc.) Partly because I feel good, and partly because I was told not to take my post-op blood thinner and just try to move around a little extra instead. I didn't have any nausea or vomiting - I'd wager that helped. Got a Zofran bolus while still in the hospital because I thought I might be getting queasy, but I think it was just my bowel waking up from anesthesia. :)

I'm not eating or drinking much at all. I feel like I sip constantly, but am maxing out around 25 oz a day (water + Protein combined). It's going to be a while before I can hit good Fluid intake levels, I think.

I don't need my lortab, but if you have it and it will help, take it. It really does wonders. Watch your hydration and don't be shy about getting some IV fluids if you need them. Dehydration will make everything else about 10x worse.

Hi Lisa ! I was sleeved the same day :) ..Liquids are difficult still for me. I am actually going to get up and out of the house briefly today in search of some better clear Protein and sf drink mix. What I have doesn't ;like me so far .. I feel super weak because I am not getting in Protein. I did make a Protein shake yesterday and sipped on it throughout the day to get something in. I have pain still and pain when I drink sometimes and find it easier to drink sitting up straight or even standing ! strange I know.

You can do this, we can do this ! Just breathe walk and sip ! And take an occassional nap !!!! :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
