Wierd Complication of Weight Loss.

Recommended Posts

Figured I'd post this to give someone a chuckle, and possibly someone else a chance to voice the unforseen "odd" side effects of weight loss.

Here's my very annoying side affect of losing weight:

My BUM hurts.

It appears that because I have refused to exercise (so no Buns of steel) and I now have lost a massive ammount of padding, I sit directly on my tailbone.

This pinches and pokes the skin between the tailbone and my chair.

Sad but true folks, weightless is a pain in the ass.

:huggie:

(now, if I could just get up and work on those buns of steel, I wouldn't be sitting here thinking about making people laugh over my painful tuckus....)

Paul, ME TOO! OMG, this is funny! I look for padding, when I sit down (in restaurants). My husband thinks I should carry around a donut to sit on. I don't think I am in THAT bad of condition.

LOL...I've noticed the same thing! It hurts to sit on hard chairs, in the bath tub, etc. And, I still have padding on my butt! What gives?

And here I thought I was the only weird one! For some reason I notice it most when I'm driving, just can't find a comfortable position!

I've analyzed it and in my case I believe the weightloss has made me have a more flat bum. So, I end up slouching in chairs, just to sit on more of the padded portion!

OUCH! When you guys find a cure, let us other pains in the As_ know!!

take care,

Karla

Me too. That is weird, thought I was the only one.:(

My wife keeps telling me to go and look for my ass, as it isn't in my slacks anymore.

Funny thing is, I used to have 2 asses in there (side by side). it is nice to be lacking in that area.:heh:

BTW, Dawg, I sit on a pillow at work now, as my office chair makes me sore.:think

Me, too! My butt if flatter than my husband's.....this is not the look I was going for!! I remember seeing girdles in medical supply catalogs that have padded bottoms....I never understood it before but now they are starting to look pretty sexy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
