I made meatballs (93% lean) in spaghetti sauce and ate it soaked in sauce to keep it moist. Was able to eat 1. 93% lean is on my diet list. Some can't have beef for 6 months.

Refried Beans were a lifesaver for me at that point. Also, mashed up canned chicken mixed in with Tomato basil Soup. A little cheese is good, I second the Baby Bel cheese. Also maybe break up some turkey meatballs in a tomato sauce.

Laughing Cow cheese is also good, some non/low-fat Greek yogurt, small curd cottage cheese (w/ a little unsweetened applesauce, like 1tbsp), SF pudding made with 2% milk (you can add Protein powder!). I could only do a single soft poached eggs at two weeks, and I'm still turned off by canned tuna and chicken. I also made a roasted cauliflower mash (any recipe online works) and added Protein Powder, it was pretty tasty.

I also like the Laughing Cow "cheese" but keep in mind that (at least the wedges I bought) are not real cheese and don't have much Protein. Still, I buy them and enjoy them. Some of the new flavors are really nice although the original swiss is my favorite.

But a Laughing Cow low fat wedge has only 2g Protein, while a Baby Bel for the same size is real cheese and has 6g protein.

I didn't realize that Laughing Cow was not real cheese until I noticed that it does not require refrigeration! Holy (laughing) cow!

I eat chicken Soup, I just cut the chicken in small pieces, the moisture of the broth helps it go down smoothly! I also eat Beans and lentils with chesse, cottage chesse with banana, I've had some tuna and salmon, potato and egg salad. I can only eat one boiled egg, I haven't really tried it fried or any other way. I also had some turkey ground meatballs with Tomato sauce (it was great). I've only been on soft foods for 5 days!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
