Congratulations on your weight loss. I am worried too about the mental part. I can understand how your eyes still want to eat the big meals but your tummy won't let you.

One has to wonder if her sleeve wasn't made larger back 4 years ago then it is now. I seem to remember that it took a lot of trial and error to come to the current size that works best fro most people.

Having said that I am 1.3 years out and find that I too "struggle" from time to time with food and have not reached my goal weight - I'm still 30 pounds form it. But being 30 pounds overweight is a far cry from being 200 pounds over weight and I count it as a total success.

And as I've stated before, NO WLS will work for you if you can't get your head straight. For most of us we have DECADES of food addiction to over come - and that's NOT simple by a long shot.

All I can recommend is to see the doctor first of all, then seek psychological help to over come your food issues. Also, boost or START your exercise to burn off more calories. Find something you like (or can at least tolerate) and keep doing it. I found swimming works for me.

We all wish you the best!

yes, my hair is coming back in. I had gall bladder surgery after my VSG and I lost hair again when I had that surgery.

I have to watch what I eat. It's easy to gain weight back, if you start eating sweets and junk food again, or eat in between meals.

glad your stomach is winning - and you can't eat too much

no fun making yourself get sick cuz you ate more than you should have

my surgeon jokingly tells me - eat til i'm full, then stop 2 bites earlier!!!!

yeah, gotta take care of some head issues, we all have them, you have done so great,

continued success 4 years PO - maybe dealing with a couple of food issues, after all they are not going to stop overnight (the issues we had forever)

take care my friend - don't let the "devil"/food win - you went through a lot for your success, you can continue, and do better too

good luck my friend

Ice queen, did you lose your hunger and if so has it come back, and when did it come back? I have lost my hunger and love it but am wondering if it will last.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
