Sorry to hear that. Can you specify? Are you able to eat a lot more now than in the first year?

Are you battling the sleeve? Eating restrictions? Battling old mindset of making poor eating choices? Battling exercise? Emotions?

Can you go into it a bit deeper?

Wow, where to start?

I weighed 120 kg, now i fluctuate between 69kg and 71kg.

My mind still wants to eat big meals after all this time. I dont feel full, my stomach just hurts if I eat too much. I still throw up if i eat too much. I just wont learn.

If i eat bread which i dont very often, I can eat alot of it. I can eat about one cup full.

What else would you like to know, please ask.

So you feel like your biggest problem is you changed physically but not mentally? Cause it sounds like you've had good success with your weight but just can't get your head to come 'round.

I guess so.

I dont have much discipline, but appreciate dearly what this surgery has done for me.

My goal weight is 64ks but just cant get there.

I hear you. Discipline/willpower is my issue-heck probably for most of us here. I think what you have achieved it great. Feel proud of your accomplishments and keep on with it! It is a problem in our heads that doesn't just dissipate with the weight. Best wishes to you for continued success!

Well, after looking up a kg to lbs converter (blush)...I can see you've done very well!! I hope the sleeve is at least making the battle easier. I think we will all fight it to some degree or other probably the rest of our lives. Keep up the good fight. :)

I'll be 3 years in a month and I can definitely eat way more than I could a year ago. I sincerely hope that this is as much as it's going to stretch.

One good thing is I am still rarely hungry. So just because I can eat more, I don't necesarrily do it. I still try to eat small portions most of the time.

Oregondaisy,

Have you maintained your weight loss? Did your hair come back, if you lost it to begin with?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
