vida81 1 Posted March 27, 2015 1. What was it like waking up? Did you feel pain or nausea right away, or feel confused? 2. Did you go right to your room or were you in a post operative room at first? 3. Did you have a pain pump or how did you take pain medication or anti-nausea meds? 4.How long until you took your home meds? Did you crush them or take them whole? LisaPunkinHead 187 Posted March 28, 2015 @@vida81, When I woke up, I felt pain in my abdomen and in my back. I remember the back pain more. I don't know why my back hurt; maybe how I was positioned. The pain was worse the day of surgery. I was in recovery for a time and then went to my own room. I had a pain pump -- push the button and Dilaudid comes out and I go back to sleep. I have other meds through my IV. I didn't have to crush my home meds. The anti-nauseant was dissolvable in my mouth, the pain meds are liquid. I have a PPI for 90 days and it's a little bitty pill so it is not difficult to take.
skor514 0 Posted March 29, 2015 I'm scheduled for April 14th in Mexico. Anyone else getting it done in Mexico? What is the way your payments were made? I was asked to make a cheque to my coordinator and not the hospital. Is this normal??

purfkt1 0 Posted April 30, 2015 I had the surgery back in June 2012, and here I am 3 years, in June, later. I lost a total of 90 lbs before I began gaining the weight back. As of today Ive gained 36 of the 90 lbs. Im afraid. I don't want to go back so Im struggling to at least get back to the 90 lb mark. In the meantime, I have not had a hunger pain since the surgery. My stomach no longer growls. So I eat mostly out of habit now. I honestly cant tell when Im physically hungry. I find myself eating out of boredom or habit. What should I do? How do I handle this? KristaSilliman 14 Posted June 10, 2015 It's been over a year since gastric sleeve & I'm at my goal weight & that's awesome, however I've started experiencing extreme reflux it's waking me up & causing me to cough & wheeze painful in chest lung area. I take nexium 2-3 times a day but it's not controlling especially when I'm sleeping. I don't eat before bed & all I still drink is Water. Please any advice? woo woo 872 Posted June 10, 2015 Suggest you go see your doc. Reflux is not something to play with.

HealthyJudy 53 Posted June 20, 2015 Thank you. This is all great information. I'm 9 days post surgery and loving it already. Down almost 40 pounds if I include the 32 I lost prior to surgery. I;ve been trying out new shakes. One thing different from your post -- I was never put on Clear liquids only. I've been using muscle milk, Umjury and putting lactose and fat free milk in my shakes from the start. Everything else fits with what my surgeon told me and you provided even more information. Thank you so much.
HealthyJudy 53 Posted June 20, 2015 Wanted to share a fun thing I found -- If you go to www.newlifestylediet.com you can put in your start weight and your goal weight and get a virtual picture showing how your body looks at start and end place of this journey. I'm keeping mine where I can see it each day to provide extra motivation. (You can also use the site to track your weight. You can ignore their diet and products.) 1 njgal reacted to this
