bread isn't evil. I am trying to do whole grain mini rounds for the "good carbs" before I work out. I was using bananas/oranges, but both are still too sweet for my tummy to like. Bread doesnt add much to the diet except for that kind of situation, IMO. It's really sad, too, because I used to bake all the bread my family ate. I miss the smell of baking bread and that first big bite of the heel with butter on it.

I am 4 months out and I started introducing toasted whole wheat bread now ,It was fine, specially if you do a little exercise . There is nothing wrong on having your whole wheat toast 2-3 times per week if you like =)

I haven't tried toast or bread yet, just crackers. I am afraid of bread for two reasons: First of all, because I have heard that it can hurt. Secondly, I am afraid that it won't hurt (lol). I am just staying away from the bread for now although I have tried bits of flatbread and bits of wheat tortilla. Both are more like cracker.

Maybe eventually I will try some toasted seeduction bread (Whole Foods).

I havent had bread but I have had the bimbo toasted bread, at about 3 weeks out, and it is yummy. I put egg salad or chicken salad on it...very good.

WOW Lissa... Starting on the first, I'm pretty much eliminating breads and sweets for a month or so.... I'm glad I can tolerate basically anything (except very sweet drinks)... But I need to ramp up my effort to get as much weight off before August....

My diet says no bread for about 6 months. I assume that this is toast. I have had a few crackers but no bread.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
