Try to eat as much as possible wait about 30 minutes and try to eat some more. Eating frequent small meals works best for me.

Yup, in the early days when you can't get much in splurge on the higher calorie, higher carb Protein shakes and mix them with milk or soy milk to up the calories even more. I recommend the Syntha-6 shakes for this - they're incredibly tasty but too high cal (and low protein) for me to drink daily. Also add two scoops (or 1.5) to about 12 oz. liquid to boost those calories and Protein counts even more.

I found the easiest way for me was to drink the calories... I would stick to my Protein shakes though. There are a few that are higher calories, like EAS Myloplex.

Sometimes the only way to break a stall is to wait it out. I know how hard it is (I just broke a 3week stall) but sometimes you aren't doing anything wrong. Make sure you are getting in your Protein, your Water and your Vitamin and try not to worry about the numbers. It can be difficult but it will break.

Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
