Bettina 0 Posted August 11, 2006 To me, it looks like it might be a lawn fungus... crops up when we have very humid and hot summers. It could also be an insect problem. Go to Home Depot and buy a fertilizer with insecticide and also a fungicide application. Some places can diagnosis the problem from a soil sample for free. Stole my words right from me!! Yeah fungus is a funny thing....more common than you think!
LittleBird 0 Posted August 11, 2006 We've only lived there 1.5 years...Didn't have this last year. It was pumped right before we moved in. It's dry underneath...

Dody 0 Posted August 11, 2006 huh, well aside from the obvious alien visit, did someone dump something out right there, antifreeze, weed killer i say this because somehting along those line happend to us, This looks exactly like a huge spot I had on my lawn last yr. I have some pretty horrible neighbors on one side of me and I know (because I had it tested) that round-up had been dumped on my yard. They also thrown a variety of junk over the fence, including dirty diapers. That is part of the reason I love staying at my daughters is the fact that I have such ugly neighbors. They are young and I'm certainly not, but they evidently don't like me for some reason....I even paid to put the fence up between my yard and theirs because they didn't want to pay. They have also poisoned and killed 2 cats over the past 5 years (my cats). Try and think of anyone that might do something cruel like this, and yes it is very cruel, but honestly that is what it looks like.
3loves 0 Posted August 21, 2006 So what's the verdict? Is it the septic tank? Or, is it still on your DH's To Do List?
Vera 7 Posted August 21, 2006 Septic would make your yard greener...someone dumped something, a bucket from washing the floor, clorox type stuff. cleaning stuff? just my guess. When I had septic back-up(without knowing I had septic, therefor Not treating it with bactria) I had a lush green swamp Thought I had a natural spring... Dose it stink? So Sorry about the cats
