Recommended Posts

Newly single and 100% clueless when I'm being flirted with... Well I guess that's not a new trait.

I'm going into this single and probably going to be single for a while while I go through this! But it's more important to me. Three days till my surgery.

Hi. I'm a single female, 37, never married and no kids. I live in Erie, Pennsylvania but I'm kind of restless and hoping to move one day. Hoping to get my Lapband to sleeve revision in a couple months to lose additional weight.

How far is that from Pittsburgh? I used to go there when I was a kid for summer with my uncle. I loved it.

Ugh I can't figure this site out. Daveo I live about 2 hours away from Pittsburgh! I go there once in a blue moon. I'm usually down town and the hustle and bustle drove me nuts! It's nice for visiting but I am more a suburban girl than big city :)

Oh two hours is not bad, last time I was there was when I was a kid and loved the east coast! I'm originally from California now living in Nevada. So visiting was great but I am not sure I could live there, too humid. I like small towns myself, although living next to Vegas does have its perks.

Las Vegas is on my bucket list!! Actually, if I ever get married I think I would rather do it there than blow a bunch of money.

Yeah Vegas is nice and I used to love to vacation here when I lived in Cali. Now I don't go out. haha. Oh you have so many choices when it comes to getting married here! and yeah you can get married pretty cheap. There is even a drive thru one.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
