Hi y'all I'm Bre. Sleeved on 4/10 single no kids. 25 almost 26 years old from Texas. I've been told "I'm really pretty for a big girl" and now with the weight coming off I hope One day I can just get a compliment without "for a big girl" lol. My love life is a hot mess so I'm not expecting a dating miracle once I reach goal but more of acceptance for myself.

Because....like RuPaul says " If you can't love yourself then how the hell you go'n love somebody else? Can I get a Amen?!"

Hello all! Single and sleeved on march 12th. I was at the store the other day and got hit on for the first time in who knows how long! I actually didn't know what was going on at first and still wasn't completely sure until my friend clarified things for me lol. Hopefully I will get better at this and am looking forward to hearing how everyone else is doing with the dating world!

Soo pretty for a big girl...heard that soo many times.

While the world offers many new "opportunities" now, here are some things that are good about going through this journey single:

1. You are the only one that can sabotage yourself (ie eat bad things etc)

2. You can define your own schedule for fitting in exercise and what your post surgery routine will be.

3. You learn to judge yourself by what you see not by what a partner sees/perception

4. Your eventual partner will only know the "new" you, in my case the person my eventual partner will see a sexy, confident, a person who loves themselve inside and out, fit and active person....lucky partner lol

Just my 2c

Just became single ..im 12 days post op....i have been with the same guy for 5 years, thick and thin. Once i decided to have the sleeve he started to push me away....i dont get it but i know i have alot to do to fix me....so single is ok for now! Glad im not alone out here!!!

I'll never understand this, but it seems to be the trend..

to me it's like.. "Hey baby, I want to do something that's going to guarantee I'll never be fat again." What kind of idiot says no to that?? Sign me up for a girlfriend that's not capable of gaining weight ever again please! lol.

I just want to say thank you for to everyone. When i started this board i never imagined it would take off. Single fat guy attitude i suppose. Ladies i think you are all very good looking already, and no real man should be judging you by your size. I just wanted to say for all you new sleevers or future sleevers hang in there its worth it .. Yesterday i hit weighed in at 198.. I havent been that since 10th grade. I started at 299 in sept was down to 250 prior to my surgery on 2/28. It will be hard at times and you will wanna quit or reconsider but with every pound you drop or inch you lose comes a very good feeling. Btw still single if anyone was interested....

Hey all, I'm Christy, 28 from Louisiana sleeved on 4/4/11 and newly single. So it's been a year and I've lost a whole person. I deff get hit on all the time. I was married for 4 years ( he was with me when I was big) but it didn't work out. The surgery has changed me and the attention is a lot of fun. I've heard those "your cute for a big girl" comments all my life. I decided to have fun with the attention and it can be a lil over whelming. Good luck all! Glad this is here!

Another single sleever here! 30 years old and live in the Nashville, TN area. Born and raised in Ohio. Moved to Nashville for better career options....6 years later, excited to see what other options arise as I become the new, healthy me. Sleeved 4/24/12.

Add me to the single list. 43 in Jacksonville, Fl, sleeved September 2011. I've also lost a whole person... a good sized whole person :). I have to say my options in the dating world have expanded exponentially since I was sleeved... and that's a good thing B)

Newly single, sleeved for 21 months. I was with my ex for over 2 years, so this will be my first time dating at a healthy weight and my first time dating as a sleever. I always had a pretty face, but after losing the weight, I get checked out constantly. I think it will be interesting to see how things play out now that I'm more conventionally attractive.

For those of you who've been sleeved for a while and don't necessarily eat so little that it's immediately obvious....how long do you wait to disclose that you've had WLS? I know a LOT of people are very ignorant about WLS, so I wouldn't be breaking it out on the first date, but how long is long enough?

Checking back in' date=' I went out with my wingman on Friday night, he was helping me see what kinda guys are out there.

Had the best night, got hit on like 4 times in one night......not sure any were 100% serious, but more attention than I ever got pre-op.

Guess I am starting to get sexy...will embrace that <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

I'm a single sleever. I'm enjoying dating again, but most of my dates have been with people who have known me for a long time, so no worries about how long to wait to reveal I had surgery. One "new" guy I went out with actually told me to "go ahead and eat" when he noticed that I hadn't finished much of my meal. I just told him matter of factly that I'd had WLS and was full. It didn't seem to be a big deal to him, but he did later confess that he really likes BIG women. We haven't been out again. I'm LOL, but I'm not his "type" anymore! :)

I'm a single sleever. Sleeved just over a month ago (4/11/12). Have been single most of my life. No children.

I have noticed some men checking me out. No dates yet. I'm ready but nervous about dating. It's been awhile. I love my new sleeve and more active lifestyle. My self-esteem and confidence is steadily improving as the lbs drop.

Looking forward to hearing your stories, tips and advice as we all venture into the dating pool :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
