tightness in chest w/no fill yet

Recommended Posts

I am exactly 7 days post-op today. I have lost 6 pounds. Yes I'm sure that is mostly Water weight, but I do wonder considering I get stuck on water Protein Drink. Also, I don't even know if the feeling I'm getting IS stuck. I'm just assuming. All I know is I have 10 band. After reading this board I'm not sure if it is a cm or cc. I go back for my post-op check up this week and will ask to make sure. But in any case I DO know it is unfilled. I went to the movies last night and the only thing I ordered was a bottle of water. just sitting in the seat was making me feel like the water was held up in my chest. I hope this is just the swelling and will go down soon. On the other hand, I obviously have restriction and feel I should be greatful.

Just a week post-op, I'm sure your tightness is due to swelling. I had definite restriction in the 2 weeks after my op (but I did also get a 1cc fill in a 4cc capacity band during surgery). Unfortunately that restriction has dwindled to almost none now (1 month post-op). I do recall having to sip Water very slowly in the beginning because I felt so tight from the swelling, now I'm gulping down a half litre at a time.... I think I felt things loosening up, which I attribute to the swelling going down, after 2 weeks. Hope this helps.

Deana.

It is all from the swelling my dear, however there are a few of us who once the swelling goes down do have restriction for sometime without needing a fil lat 6weeks post op..I was one of those people, the swelling takes 2-3 weeks to completely go away, if you then still notice you hace tightness in your chest, be greatful, you are one of the lucky ones who may not need as many fills :huggie:
