Reached your personal goal???

I have been at goal for a while now. Just working on toning anf firming. I feel like who I am outside now matches who I am inside. I have become a nicer more confidant person with a passion for life. Celebrate the small victories because that is what success is...a series of small victories. Congrats everyone.

I set my ultimate goal weight (130 pounds) based on what is healthy for my height. I could actually be 115 pounds and still be within the healthy range, but I thought 130 was a good start. I didn't talk much about it with my doctor, I just decided on my own.

My first mini goal is 215. I just chose that because on my last diet I got to about 219-220. But couldn't move past that. I thought it would probably be impossible to drop below that, so I'll feel really good when I get to 215. The next goal after that will be 199 (I haven't been under 200 in such a long time...I don't even remember when the last time was). That will feel SOOO good! I cant wait!

I love this bandiva....I feel this way but couldn't word it better. It's funny how goals change. My original goal was to get to the weight I was in my early 30s. I am only half way there but I feel as you do. I had a victory today which meant more to me than any number on the scale could. Went bike riding with DH...dragged him to a park we've never been to. He jogged and I rode. I was able to stand on the pedals and go for miles. I have to say it wasn't bad for a 50 year old. Most people now think I'm younger than I really am and I feel it now thanks to the Lap Band.

I got to goal about 4 months ago but have lost more since (another 19lbs) in part due to a body lift, and in part because I guess my body just wasn't done losing.

I am focussing on maintaining now and am trying NOT to lose anymore, so I exercising purely for fun now (walking and cycling once or twice a week) and eating pretty much whatever I want with my band managing Portion Control for me.

And I tell you, that's a nice change from struggling (and generally failing) to lose weight all my life.

Last time I wrote, I was 14 pounds away from my goal (130 pounds, set by my doctor), but I always wanted to be 125, since that was the weight I had in college.

After I reached goal, I continue to lose weight, but not on purpose, I excersise and eat pretty much every kind of food.< /p>

My weight now is 124 pounds, I'm happier than ever.

And what you said abut small victories, that is soooo true, I remember the first time I could cross my legs without problems, and the first time I when shopping and got a M blouse, that was just incredible for me!

Best wishes to all of you, I hope you reach your goals and keep up the spirit !

yes its going to be a year on December1 that I've had the lap band. My personal goal was to get through the operation and see food for what it is and not. i think losing 40 lbs as i've done changes how you react to food physcially and mentally. i am no longer raising my insulin over the roof and eating completely out of control Phycially Im in a better place I can do more yoga and I feel stronger and more in control. THe loss stopped my hormone symptoms almost dead. Do I weight 100 lbs no...am I phycially perfect at age n 50 prob not but i'm better than the woman I used to be..

Yay for you, Lellow! I'm coming right up behind ya! I've got my op with Dr Allbrook next Monday and I'm hoping to do as well as you have from it.

Got to my goal of 150 as of this morning. It feels absolutely wonderful. I'm now thinking I may shoot for 5 more lbs so I can be at this weight with my clothes on!

Hitting my goal weight is something I wasn't sure I would ever be able to do. I haven't been this weight since freshman or sophomore year in high school - possibly junior high. Now I feel like I could do anything I set my mind to. And I know I couldn't have done it without the band. It gave me the time and the control I needed to work thru my issues with food and have a healthier relationship with food.

Today's a pretty freaking good day!

Encouraging thread; My doc & I set my goal at 160 when I had surgery.

I actually felt awesome at 183 / size 14W and probably got too relaxed - cause many who didn't know I had the surgery were commenting that I'd lost plenty enough weight & that I should lose more. Anyway, I've gained 10+ pounds and now on a mission to at least get to 175 by Christmas, which would make me very happy.

I'll continue to read this thread and other positive ones like this for encouragement.

Best of Luck, all.

My first goal is 214, that is what I weighed before I got pregnant in 2005, and was what I weighed for 3 years. I am ONE pound away as of this morning, I about fell off of the scales when it said 215!!!

My next goal is 199. I haven't been under 200 pounds in about 8 years. Man, that will feel GOOD!!! :)

I'd really like to be 180 or even 170 by Christmas. I'd really like to get professional pictures taken with my daughter, I won't get them taken now with me being so heavy. And, I hate taking pictures now. I usually won't let anyone take pictures of me... I can't wait til I walk into my husbands family's house and their jaws drop!!! Its gonna be awesome!!! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
