I'm just one person, but I threw up several times a day the first two weeks after surgery because of complications. I never had a leak, but that's not to say it never happens. I'm over 4 months out now and haven't had a leak and I've thrown up a lot.

Does it seem like you throw up harder with the sleeve? Maybe its just me but I've never thrown up that hard before.

did they prescribe an anti-nausea for you? Zofran 8mg ODT or Phenergan Syrup.< /p>

Lauran, I'm not sure if you were asking me that, but I was prescribed both and neither helped. Msaprildawn, I don't think it feels like I'm throwing up harder, just a little different because I'm really trying not to throw up. I've never really thrown up a lot because of food before surgery (just from being ill or motion sick), so it was a new experience. I was only sore the first couple weeks of throwing up. It felt like I just did 1000 sit-ups. Now, it's pretty much normal.

First I am wondering after reading these post why you are all vomiting and it sounds like some of you are vomiting quite often. I have vomited only once and that was because I thought that I could eat the rest of a meal that I had put on a plate instead of stopping when my stomach said "ENOUGH". I have not done that again as I do not like to vomit. I did a lot of vomiting with my lapband and that is one of the reasons that I had it removed and had the sleeve. I think that if you are vomiting weekly then you need to examine what you are eating and your eating habits. I know after reading posts on other topics I see people pusing the envelope and eating foods that I think are way too early for the amount of time that they are post op. That is just me but I stick to the diet plan that my surgeon gave me after surgery. There are things on that which it says that I can eat that I have some trouble with so why push my luck with things that are listed for me to eat further out.

I guess that each person is different but I think that if you are vomiting on a weekly basis or more then you have a problem.

This was the first time I vomited. I also had the lap band before. I ate too much Soup which is what stage I'm in right now.

I'm not "vomiting on a weekly basis." I just threw up a lot my first two weeks because of complications. First, my stomach twisted therefore nothing could go down, so it just came back up. After they put a stent in, it became even worse. I only stopped after they took the stent out. I also couldn't stop overproducing saliva at that time, so when I went to sleep I wasn't awake to spit it out so it all collected in my stomach, making me wake up in the middle of the night to throw up.

When I said I've thrown up a lot, I meant in those two weeks I did. Since then, I've thrown up probably four times. Once because I drank too soon after I ate (and I actually waited an hour to drink), another because I ate too fast, and twice because certain food didn't agree with me. I'm still learning what my sleeve can and can't handle. I'd rather throw up and feel better than miserably sit for an hour praying that awful feeling goes away. I hate getting the foamies and having that constant stuck feeling.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
