Good morning! I am four months out and been at a screeching halt for about 3 weeks. I am eating Protein and taking in liquid but nothing Any suggestions on how to make it move again? Getting frustrated thinking maybe I am at a stopping point. I have lost right at 63 pounds.

This was me... literally until this morning! I went three weeks with NOTHING. I went back to basics. I hit my Protein goal and drank my Water and stayed away from treats (for the most part). This last week I also stayed off the scale to give my head a break. I'm not sure if it was the Water or just time but today my stall broke.

It will pass, just give it some time. I know how frustrating it can be! Oh, some people suggested to me to change up your routine, I kinda did that as well as this weekend I went away so everything was different. I got back Sunday but waited until this morning (my normal weigh in day/time) to weigh in.

Good luck and chin up!

I know it's hard, but just be patient. You are not done, your body is just catching up with the changes you have made. If it bothers you to see the number on the scale stay the same, stay off. If not, keep checking but if it doesn't move, just say to yourself, "maybe tomorrow" and keep to your plan. Protein, Water, and vitamins!

Stay being positive! Remember, most of us lose in the "stairstep" manner. Some weeks are good losses, some weeks will be silent. It's ok, it doesn't mean we're finish in any way. We think of weight loss in averages.. which normally is about 1-3 Lbs per week. That doesn't mean you will actually lose that every week. That means if you haven't lost any weight in the last 3 weeks, then when the losses catch up, you will probably have 2 weeks worth of some really high numbers.

If you haven't started yet, you might want to begin some time of workout routine. Start small, don't push yourself too much just starting out or you will get burnout and might give up. Also, how much Water are you getting in? 64 Oz should be about your minimum. Try bumping it up by a 16 Oz bottle. See if that helps.

Also, try to find other ways to measure your success. The scale does not define you or how well you're doing. It's only a piece of the puzzle, don't let it have any more worth than it should. You deserve to be happy, so find ways to keep yourself on the positive road.

Think back in the last month. Have you gotten any compliments? How are your clothes fitting? Do you have any side by side photos to compare, from last month to today? There are so many avenues! Pick the one that keeps you motivated.

:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
