rrrsmom 1 Posted August 3, 2003 I have two questions. I'm 5 days banded. How long was it til you noticed extra energy or the need for less sleep? The second question is the side of my tummy with the port is obviously larger than the side without? Is that normal?
leo 4 Posted August 3, 2003 It could just be the gas that is still in your body. My port area was swollen for quite some time. Try taking some gasX to get rid of the gas.
FDATrialGuineaPig 7 Posted August 8, 2003 Your body is recovering from the trauma of surgery and from the anesthesia. I felt pretty "normal" after 2 weeks but my port area was sore for much longer. At six weeks postop I felt totally recovered. Hang in there!
sprtsmom 1 Posted August 24, 2003 I was tired for a long time. I'd say about a month. I could take 2 naps a day. But that was the only post op symptom I had. No pain, no PB, no nothing. So I just slept a lot!!! My port is VERY close to the skin. When I lie down you can feel it with your fingers, but when I stand up you can almost see the little bulge if you look close. I guess that makes fills easier! Lori
Kiera 2 Posted August 24, 2003 I was completely useless the first week post-op, all I wanted was to sleep. The second week got better and by week four I felt pretty much normal. Just give yourself as much rest as you can and you will be fine. I could really feel the bulge of my port for the first few weeks and it was distracting as heck. Once the swelling went down I hardly notice it unless I poke around for it. I was terrified it was always going to stick out like that, luckily that was not the case.
