Help With Friending

When I click on someone's picture, I do not have an option to friend anyone. I can only see threads they've started, posts they've made and one other thing that I cannot remember. Someone said there should be other buttons so I can follow people. Is it because I'm using this through an app on my iPad? Please help.

Yes, you're correct. This is a limitation of the mobile app.

Okay, if I friend someone through my computer, will I be able to follow them through my iPad or am I limited to only following through my computer?

You should be able to follow them on your ipad if you add them on your computer. Some people have already added you like myself.
