Tomorrow (03/27/12) So Ready!

Recommended Posts

So it's almost here. I couldn't be more excited. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous but for the most part I am just ready.

I don't even think I have anymore questions at this point. I've done my research I know this is ging to be a hard journey but so ready for it. I am sick & tired of carrying around the weigh of an extra person.

Hoping to find a few friends on here to help in this journey & maybe help them too.

Congrats on your first step to the new you. I am finishing up my second week being sleeved. I'm down 13 lbs since the surgery and 25lbs overall including the 2 week pre-op diet. Good luck and happy healing!

Hey there MQ!! Well you've come to the right place for VST friends and support. :) I was right where you are now just about a year and a half ago, and now today I am shouting from the highest rooftops how awesome the sleeve really is!

Being nervous is very common, so no worries there. I'm praying for you that your surgery is just another day at the office for your Surgeon. Don't forget to check in and let us know how you're healing! Be Blessed!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
