Ok so my mind is working in overdrive today due to hecticness. Few odd things I've been wondering as I mill through laundry and kids stuff...will I ever be allowed pickles, hot chocolate, pizza, and even the occasional mac and cheese(i only do homemade with ricotta, cheddar, mozz and muenster for a smokey bite) again? I know thats odd but I figured u guys are the experts compared to me at only a week out?

I would say yes to all of those things in moderation! The hot chocolate may be a little sweet, so you might want to experiment as to your sugar tolerance before you drink too much, or switch to a sugar free or lower sugar variety.

I am three months out and have had very small amounts of macaroni and cheese. I already had some Annie's boxed Pasta and cheese, so I add canned chicken to that and let the family have most of it. I just have less than a half a cup, occasionally. When the Annie's is gone, I am going to make Pasta and cheese using whole wheat or spinach/artichoke flour pasta (wonderful) because those pastas have a higher nutrition score and are supposedly more tolerable.

pizza I have only tried once fairly early on, I am thinking it is time to try again. Supposedly a very thin crust is best or don't eat the crust.

Yes you can eat those things but only occasionally. Protein first forever! I find that Pasta makes me feel horrible so I have given up on that, but I have eaten pickles and pizza and I love hot chocolate (you can make it with Protein Powder if you're careful).

Hi there, the answer is yes you will be able to enjoy all these wonderful foods again someday*.

*You may not be able to enjoy all these foods right away, as some sleevers experience sensitivity to foods that are high in fats, some pastas, breads, dairies and anything high in sugar... which it is probably better to avoid them as best one can until goal is reached.

Good luck!

For me, the answer was yes... however there were some things that my sleeve just doesn't like even if I try a bit or two. One of them is hot foods, so no more medium/hot wings for me! pizza sits very heavy for me, so I typically just eat the cheese and toppings. Mac and cheese would be iffy for me... sometimes Pasta hits me hard. I am only 6 months out though and have only tried these things recently, and in very small amounts.

I think that one day I'll be able to tolerate a larger variety of foods. It was one of the reasons I chose this surgery... because I wouldn't have restrictions!
