I read your blog. Thank you for posting useful information for those of us that are going on the same journey. I am curious what you used for Glucosamine right after surgery. I am pre-surgery and take it for arthritis in my knee but the tablets are large and I can't imagine that I will be able to take them after. Did you crush them or did you find a liquid form?

Good morning!

Regarding the Biotin: maybe it has helped keep my hair from falling out more; it's hard to say. I didn't have a problem with my hair until the last couple of weeks so maybe it kept it from starting earlier. I'm hoping it won't get worse now that I'm off the Ursodial (which said one of the side effects is hair loss). I'm still taking it and will continue for a long time, along with the Luminous that my ND is getting for me.

Regarding the Glucosimine: I just started taking it this past month. You're right, the pills are huge and I could never have gotten them down the first 2-3 months. I think you will have to crush them or cut them (which never seemed to work for me). I do really feel it has helped my joints.

Thank you both for the nice compliments and for reading my weekly blog!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
