wabbitninja 4 Posted March 25, 2012 Hey guess I'm Dee.. I had my surgery on March 12th... as of today all I've been eating is Soups (liquids only ofcourse) sugar free popsicles Jello and frozen yogurt, mashed potatoes ... I was told I can have egg salad tuna salad chili .. I can no longer stand the smell of eggs or tuna ( which both used to be my favorite) I'm craving everything but don't fall into temptation ... I need more variety or I'm gonna go nuts!! Any suggestions????
wabbitninja 4 Posted March 25, 2012 Oh I forgot lots of Water and Protein Shakes which BTW I kinda stopped cuz the smell makes me want to puke.. any suggestions on how to replace the shakes?
krazigyrl 1 Posted March 25, 2012 I had my surgery March 16th. I'm sooo tired of this liquid diet. My Protein Shake that used to be pretty good pre surgery, is now horrible. I'm going to try some other flavors. You can have egg salad and tuna salad on your liquid diet or is this the start of your soft foods?
wabbitninja 4 Posted March 25, 2012 Well my nurse coordinator said I need as much Protein as possible and mentioned I should be eating that aswell as pureed for the first few weeks before I can start regular food again
diochick 40 Posted March 27, 2012 I also had my surgery on 3/12, and have had a hard time with the mushy food stage. I've been eating a lot of Greek yogurt (more protein) and unsweetened applesauce. We're going to attempt Shepard's pie tonight just to mix it up. I don't really have a desire to eat much of anything. I'm still mainly doing the Popsicles and Jello.< /p>
slimthickens 28 Posted March 27, 2012 You should as your doctor first but the Lindora line of products offer a good variety of high Protein Soups, shakes, and drinks that you could probably have during this phase. Check out Lindora.com or you can go to Rite Aide if you have one close becuause they sell some of their products too. mandy 92281 1 Posted March 28, 2012 I had my surgery on march 9th and I can have mashed potatoes as well but don't know what else to have. I'm going to try tuna and see how that goes.

racheal218 14 Posted March 28, 2012 I had my surgery on 3/6 and I'm still only allowed full liquids- totally jealous. I can't start mushies until next week but I'm totally in love with Isopure alpine punch. One bottle is 40grams of Protein. They're pricy but less than I used to pay for one trip through the fast food line:)

christine50 9 Posted March 28, 2012 I also had a problem with the Protein Shakes I just stopped drinking them and tried eggs. Eggs made my stomach hurt even cooked soft with cheese in them. i got unfavored Protein and added it to mashed potatoes and Tomato Soup, I ate a lot of marinara sauce with cheese. I too dont like alot of stuff after surgery. It is better to eat somesthing you can keep down. 1 racheal218 reacted to this
