I'm 8 weeks post op. Not having much trouble, but really dont eat much. I know I'm not getting in my required amount of Protein - I am taking all of my Vitamins. Today I am at a 32 pound weight loss. Was wondering what everyone was eating at this point & your weight loss at 8 weeks ? Thanks

At 8 weeks i was eating everything except salad. Didnt eat much of it though. I had wings, pot roast, ribs, chicken, tuna. I had lost 36 pounds. I was struggling with Protein, now i drink the New Whey shots from Walmart. $2.50. Tatse gross but are only 4 oz so i just drink it as fast as i can they have 42 grams of protein they taste MUCH BETTER cold! i am 3 months out the 28 and am down 55 pounds. Have you added in exercise yet?

Did you get a diet to follow from your surgeon or the NUT?????????? I know that each surgeon has different ideas on what their patients should be eating at each stage and mine goes out for a year. I am following it very closely. I figure if I start cheating and eating things that are farther out then I won't have anything to look forward to when I reach that stage. Also some of the food that they make you wait for are not good for your sleeve until that point.

Congratulations on your weight loss success. If you are having trouble getting your Protein in with regular foods you can always add a Protein Shake. I still have a protein shake every morning with my benefiber for Breakfast. I am a little over 3 months out and have no trouble getting all of my protein.

My advice, if you want to maximize your wls, take in ALL your Protein before consume any other foods.

I dont know If I mentioned something about jumping ahead of the diet - I have never done that. If anything I progressed slower than my doctors diet. I was simply mentioning that I dont get in all of my Protein & that whatever I do eat is such a small amount - That I think its slowing my weight loss down. I simply wanted to know where everyone else was at 8 weeks. Thanks

I like the Watermelon ones the best. Just tried the Blue Raspberry and they are pretty good too!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
