Ok, I am having THE most awful pain when I sit down, and think it is where my once very padded behind has gone, and left the bones at the bottom of my spine exposed (I am not complaining).

My problem is I cant sit comfortably for long enough to even watch a tv show without having pain, so I have to sit in the most bizzarre positions!

Please tell me its not only me (top tips on getting comfy also warmly welcomed) ;)

I sit on the floor when I'm watching TV, usually with one leg bent so it lies onthe floor with my foot touching my other knee...and the other leg extended. Half of that time, I'm stretching, trying to improve my flexibility. When I'm on the computer, I sit in a padded desk chair and I try to maintain proper posture since that seems to help my back. I still have a good bit of padding in the bootay area, but it's nowhere near what it used to be. :)

I would see a chiropractor. Maybe you're just out of alignment. It's amazing how good my body feels after seeing mine.

I have also found this and it happens to me even if I am driving my car for a long distance. I have also place a pillow on the seat of my recliner as my tailbone seems to bother me when sitting and watching tv. You could also try and buy a lower back support pillow to see if this puts your spine in better alignment and help with the pain. Also I have no problem with trying a chiropractor as I have been to one in the past....not specifically for a sore a$$.

I've noticed this also! I never used to have trouble but now if I sit a certain way my tail bone begins to hurt. I've started to put a little pillow behind my back and I've started watching how I sit. In a way it's sort of a NSV...your new boney butt! ;-)

I don't notice it when I'm just sitting, but I recently tried yoga and there were a few times that i had to roll up onto my butt and I ended up shrieking out loud cause it hurt!! My tailbone was sooo sensitive! Luckily the "class" was in my living room on the tv and no one but the 3 month old baby i watch was watching me! I now avoid those all together.

I really hope this doesn't get worse as I lose more!

Feel better :)

Oh! Have you tried those donut pillows? The ones that many pregnant women use after birth or people with hip problems use after surgery? You can find them even as blow-up pillows... it may relieve the pressure and allow you to sit more comfortably.

Same here, I find sitting on an unpadded seat intolerable, my hips just can't take it. The last few visits to the chiropractor I had NO problems at all. I usually go every 6-8 weeks casue I get a crick in my back and neck and I didn't even have those the last time. I may strech out the visits or just go back as needeed.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
