Well I Went N Done It Now ????

Recommended Posts

I'm 6.5 weeks out and finally made the misteak of 1-2 bites too much. I probably would have been ok if I had sat still and let it pass but the laundry was calling "come fold me!" so just that movement set me off. Luckily I felt 20x better immediately and it wasn't anything like throwing up pre surg i was done in 15 sec. And went about my chores lol. It's alittle thing I like to call built in bullemia for when i take a bite or two too much. Live n Learn!

It was that little twist you had when being called by the laundry. It caught you off guard and was probably a little scarey too! You a doing really great! Keep it up. ;)

I'm impressed that you're 6.5 weeks out and that 's the first time you've overdone it! I think I learned that lesson at about week 3! LOL!

There has been a couple of times I was close but held it back. Idk if I will do that much anymore and be in pain for 30 min when I could just let it go. Mainly I'm just really gonna try to NOT take that one bite too much!

Yeah, we've all pretty much been there - and I have to agree it's nothing like barfing was pre-op. Super quick, just maybe 1/2 mouthful and without as much acidy stomach juices, it's over and done with in a flash - thank god!

I was suprised my first upchuck. Is that all there is? Nothing like my early wayward days of late night party aftermath, lingering long in violent upheavel at the porcelon throne.:)

For real! NOTHING like puking with a hangover and not near as bad and violent as before vsg. Still no fun but tolerable. wouldn't want to make a habit of it. My stomach kinda sore today and it feels like I don't really want to eat much.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
