Any Sleevers Made Any Love Connections On Here?

Recommended Posts

I know there's some guys in here, probably hiding behind a bush somewere, lol. I always wondered if any sleevers ever met from a meetup on here/local wls meetups ? I think it's always great to have someone with a common interest, and understanding of weight loss, extra skin, etc.

I am a single female and no "luck" for me here.....not sure I am lookng at the moment, however never not open to it (yea I know doesnt make much sense).

BUt i wonder whether it would be easier to be with someone who understands what I go through, otherwise guess I am a cheap date for normal guys as well lol.

Lol @ cheap date. You can share meals. Could you imagine. Oh my gosh, I love doggy bags, or having left overs to munch on later. Sorry, I'm hungry. I too am single and not seriously looking. When I have my surgery and start losing, I think I'm just going to enjoy that free/me time. I'm going to dress how I want, and really just enjoy the new me. It's been a long time coming. Like on the biggest loser there were a few couples formed, and I just think especially when there is something that both people went through it helps on the bonding.

I am sure there are a few WLS couples out there.

I agree being single and feeling better about yourself is great. I get to know myself without anyone else's opinion, learn who I am without the fat hiding me, without anyone else to hide with.from. Everything I do is for me.

Tho soon I will be ready to share my awesomeness lol. Besides losing weight makes you very antsy.

I've never heard of it happening but I would bet that some people have. I know on another gastric sleeve forum I was on there was some naughty webcam play going on between a married lady and another sleever! LOL!

I don't know of any, but I'm volunteering to meet up with Ourborous if he's still single when I hit goal! ;)

LOL, Kiki. He lives in Washington State. I'm in Florida. I doubt we're ever going to meet...and we'd probably hate each other anyway because we're both geeks. ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
