I'm glad I made it, too :) I discovered that when I try to view the group from my IPad It tells me that I have to have a password but on the PC.. it doesn't. Must be something with the app.

Yes, I am on liquids only. I just got creative and added some fruity flavored unjury Protein packets to Jello. Will let you know how that experiment turns out. I have never been a milk drinker or an ice cream eater so it is difficult to drink the milk type Protein Drinks. I have no problem getting my 64oz of other fluids in during the day. I easily drink more than that in a day. At least dehydration won't be an issue for me.

Kathy

I ordered the Unjury sample pack. I have tried the chocolate in my coffee and liked it. I also tried the chicken Soup, I liked it, but not sure how much. I have to try the 2nd pack to be sure. Please keep me posted on the unflavored. I was so addicted to diet green tea that I really never drink Water, but now since I'm doing my preop diet, I never really realized how much I missed it. Getting all my Water in and feel great!!

Hi I am Kim. I am going to be sleeved on April 30th here in Dallas Texas by Dr.Kim. I am hoping they up the date a week or two after my follow up with the doctor next week. I am ready to join the loser bench.

Hi Kim! Congrats on your upcoming surgery!! April is just right around the corner. I just can't believe how fast these days are flying. I'm so excited, but nervous at the same time. I have butterflies in my stomach just talking about it, but am completely positive that I am making the right decision :D . What kind of preop diet are you going to do?

I start my pre-op diet April 16th with Clear Liquids. I have not thought that far.

Good question . . . I will only be in for 1 night. So I'm just bringing a small bag with change of clothes to leave hospital, my own slippers to walk the hall, a book, and toiletries. That's it, I think! I don't mind wearing the hospital gowns. How about you? Any ideas?

Hi All, just worked out how to reply!! I'm getting my surgery on 26 April here in Scotland, UK (hence my name VSGlass - only way I could remember what I'd called myself!) I go on my pre-op diet on Monday 16 April but I've been given a diet sheet to follow. Nearly there...!

Does the ninja really work well? - we look at it every time we go into the store. lol But we didn't know anyone who had one. I want to get some cute tasting dishes too. I didn't even think about checking pier 1. And I was thinking about getting the kids set of spoons and forks. I heard that having smaller utensils makes it easier to get used to taking smaller bites.

OMG I have the magic bullet and I am going still going to use that and bring it work with me. but the ninja is the fantastic !!! I also bought some very small rubbermaid containers which hold the perfect amount of food and Protein Powder for work and travel. The set I got at Pier 1 had the spoons already with it. If you have an Ikea near you I know they carry the demitasse spoons cheap and there are no cartoon charaters on them :-)

I'm bringing lip balm, magazines, my phone ( the hospital has wi-fi) my kindle a magazine or two. I'm not sure if I will do much reading but I'll have it with me if I get bored. I remember when I had my thyroid out a few years ago ( much easier surgery) I was so bored without something to read. I hate hospital gowns so I am bringing pajamas as well so I can change into those as soon as possible.

I'm travelling for my surgery and will spend 2 nights in hospital and 2 nights in hotels. I am bringing some chicken broth powder, crystal light packets and some protien shake mixes as well for the plane and hotel.

Yes, you definately need to bring your own pajamas. Sounds like you are all set!

I am going to buy some new jammies, sometimes if you "look good". You'll "feel" good. Perhaps a new lip balm too just to make it special for my new chapter in my life.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
