I also feel so bloated and I've gained weight since surgery. Is this all normal? When can I see weight loss?

At least you're hungry! I have no hunger sensation at all. I have to force myself to eat everyday. I am allowed 3oz. as of now and can barely eat 1 1/2 at a time. Maybe ask your surgeon what you should do about that!!!

When was your surgery?? My friend who had it done in aug said the same thing the first 2 weeks now she says she has to remind her self to eat.

It was February 22nd. I didn't consume anything until a week after. I finally had to force myself to do so.

Oh okay.. So how much have you lost so far?

the hunger feeling immediately post-op is usually head hunger OR acid. Head hunger is an issue each of us must conquer on our own, but an acid reducer may make that easier. Call your doctor about starting an acid reducer. It WILL help. I didn't take one until nearly 3 months out, and I was amazed at the difference the acid reducer makes!

Good luck!!

Thanks Lisa! It does seem like a head hunger, more like cravings. I'm talking Pepcid 2 times a day-is that an acid reducer?

40lbs and it's been a month since my surgery today. I don't take an acid reducer either because I barley eat. I would try reading and stuff.

Ok I'm not sure why you even commented on my post bc you don't sound sincere at all you sound very selfish and showy.

bella, I'm not sure if Pepcid is enough of an acid reducer. I'm taking an Rx acid reducer. Maybe other will chime in with more information about what works for them.

I thought Ashley was answering your question about how much she has lost since surgery, not being showy. She is having a slightly different journey than we have because her surgery was for a medical condition other than just obesity. She had a twisted stomach and the sleeve was her doctor's attempt to cure the problem.\

No matter what, I wish you both good luck on your journey!!! :)

I take prescription prilosec and it really seems to help. I'm only 10 days out, but I haven't been hungry since surgery.

I'm hoping to see some weight loss soon too. I lost 4 pounds the day after surgery and the scale hasn't moved since.

I see my surgeon on Tuesday and I'll ask him about that thanks! I lost 5 pounds pre ope and after surgery I weighed my self and I was up 8 pounds! Ugh.. I'm in so much pain and soreness and hungry. Good luck with everything :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
