If you do not feel like cooking I recommend the Gerber baby food Lasagna. If you add some salt and pepper it is not bad. I was cooking for one so this made it easy for me and at 62 cents a jar I got 2 meals out of a jar. Pretty cheap eating.

I made egg salad in the blender with a little light mayo and dill relish, with some of the Pickle Juice for flow, and salt and pepper. I did the same with tuna and canned chicken. I had laughing cow light swiss with a little low fat Peanut Butter or 1/4 of an avocado. Low fat greek yogurt- very high in Protein. Some well mashed refried Beans with a little low fat cheese (this was in the book from my doc, really) also, some mashed potatoes with beef gravy that contain some blended beef in it. hmm...what else...... My book also has a recipe for "super milk pudding." I used SF, FF pudding made with 16 oz of 2% evaporated milk. That gives it a big protein kick. Very tasty. (I like the cook and serve, but you can use instant. OH, I also put a can of progresso Soup in the blender with a scoop of Unjury chicken broth flavored Protein Powder. That was pretty good too.

I did canned chicken with yellow mustard and dill relish. It was amazing and only 20 calories or something like that. I also did Morningstar grillers or there veggie burgers with either mustard or salsa depending on the flavor of the burger I was having that day.

I made Lentil/Ham Soup with carrots. Let it cook a bit longer than usual to ensure everything was soft and then put it in a blender. Has a great flavor, great Protein and even some good carbs. I think any recipe would do.

I also made chicken veggie (no celery) and turkey chili, throwing them into the blender. I basically lived on pureed Soups in this stage.

Find any recipe you like and throw it in a blender.

Worked for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
