My port is placed in the front of my stomach instead of on the side. I never heard of this until it was already done. Is this common at all? Where is YOUR port?

My port is down on the left side which from what I understand is the norm. As long as it is not up near the heart you will be fine is what my Doc told me.Nice to have you I see you were just banded good luck just do as the Doctors tells you and stay on liquid as long as you can this is the best way to loose the weight the fastest........

Mine's in the middle. Well... more middle than to the side. It's a few inches left and a few inches up from my belly button.

Mines is in the middle of my breasts down about 4 inches just under where my bra line is.

Mine's somewhere between the manufacturer and the doctors office! :heh:

Once it's installed, it will be to the right of center, right below the ribs if I understood correctly. Between the bra line and waistline. That is where DH's is. (not that he usually wears a bra!)

Mine seems to be in the middle more about half way between bra line and belly button. If I drew a straight line it would be just slightly left of the midline. At least that's where I think it is. I think I can feel it...lol. Guess I'll know at my first fill!!!

Mine is on my right, 3 inches above and 2.5 inches of my belly button. I thought it would interfere with my waistbands, but my doctor said my waist would be getting lower. Imagine that!;)

Mine is just above and to the right of my belly button. Its also pretty deep, which should make my first fill an adventure.

My port is directly underneath my right breast. I have had two fills so far from my GP who has never done this before and I didn't feel a thing. I didn't even feel the needle going in. He doesn't feel that such a large needle is necessary and used a much smaller one than recommended....he hit it bang on both times and I didn't feel a thing.

Mine is below my right breast and about two inches down. Right now, the darn thing is flipped and I have to go for port revision, but this surgery is still worth it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
