desertmom 297 Posted March 21, 2012 hallo, Protein powders dont work for me yet. Why can I not cook and liquidize something like salmon to get at least some of my daily Proteins? 3oz have 20grams of protein.6oz is 40g.and liquidized and STRAINED with 7oz of broth it is your food and your protien for the day.less to drink, less time to get it in. Am I nuts to want to do this? xxo
Leederz 49 Posted March 21, 2012 Last night I did half a can I broccoli Soup half can Water and a whole can of chunk light tuna. Threw it in a blender and heated it. It was the perfect consistency and it was delish. I had it for 2 meals. I was thinking about salmon as well but I know sometimes theirs little bones in the can so I was leery. topgun 63 Posted March 21, 2012 Heck, no. There's a lot of great Protein available naturally but you might need to be pretty creative with your recipes to concentrate it into reasonable portions. I think you're on the right track.
desertmom 297 Posted March 21, 2012 It is super to hear that someone agrees rhat there might be a different way to get the Protein. With our calories so low it earks me that I should drink a shake that makes me so sick instead of doing some quality Proteins the natural way. So,I am on a mission to make a Protein Drink of my own that is " like a smoothe paste" according to my dr. Ok,here goes. xxo
desertmom 297 Posted March 21, 2012 And this was one of my not so great ideas this soon after surgery. You get the stuff into liquid but it still has solids, even if you cannot see it. And straining it twice with a tea strainer takes forever and you lose a lot of the Protein... So,tomorrow I will try and find another Protein shot or something!
