Stacey Nicole 40 Posted March 20, 2012 I am on the full liquid diet now. My dietician gave me a list of 5 things I can have. Most before surgery were great, but with the change in my stomach I can't eat them all now. Her list is skim milk, strained Soups made with skim milk, sugar and fat free pudding or yogurt, Protein supplements, and no ice cream. So wait.....that's really only 3 things. Please help me!!!! What was or is your favorite thing to eat on the full liquid diet???? I'm going crazy!
faddiscc4 13 Posted March 20, 2012 I'm beginning the second week of my pre-op diet. I'm living on sugar free pudding and low fat-no chunks yogurt. Sugar free popsicles taste like crap, but I eat them anyway. you can have sugar free Jello. I eat a TON of cream of mushroom Soup. I have lost 8 pounds in 6 days. Stacey Nicole 40 Posted March 20, 2012 Apparently my dietician - the woman who gave me 100 pages of literature and guidelines for this liquid diet did not verify it with my surgeon! I am not even full liquids - I am Clear Liquids only for TWO more weeks. I am only a week out and only had two bites of pudding so I didn't really break the rules but come on!!! Ugh. This is so hard. Mews 37 Posted March 21, 2012 Oh ya I can sympathize. I was sleeved on the 15th and am already sick of the clear liquid diet which is two weeks long as well. One can only drink so much broth and juice. Full liquids seem like heaven to me.
Leederz 49 Posted March 21, 2012 I did Clear Liquids only 3 days but it was a lot of diff broths. My dad would make a stew and I would have the broth from it. chicken and veggies in the crock pot then skim the fat off. Same for cabbage and corned beef Soup. Also au ju sauce is really delicious. Try diff varieties of crystal light or diet snapple, watered down apple juice. Hope that helps.
