I hate Protein Shakes. I haven't tried a single one that didn't make me gag. UNTIL tonight!! Stopped at 7-11 to grab Water & noticed they had muscle milk. I was starving because I'd been out for a long time unexpectedly so I was happy to see it, but they only had light in one flavor - vanilla Latte. Omg. So delish! Tastes like a Starbucks Chai Latte. It was realllly good! Only possible drawback for some is it is caffeinated. I'm thrilled about it personally, but I know a lot of sleevers avoid caffeine. If you don't mind that, TRY IT!! Yum!

Just got a box yesterday in chocolate. I used optimum nutrition ( which is a powder ) before ..great source of Protein. But as for a pr-mixed protein muscle milk is one of the best tasting in my opinion. Its also comes in a powder

Of all the RTD's (Ready To Drink) out there, Muscle Milk light in Vanilla Latte is def my favorite, especially if I can shake it up really good or even blender it, so it gets all whippy, with some ice cubes so it is super duper cold - yumm!! And SO filling, I don't know what special thing they do to it but it fills me up and stays for a very long time, longer than any other shake. Win-win!

I have tried two other Muscle Milks and hated them, granted they were not the lights. I will try this one but if that one sucks not doing anymore - LOL!

I hope I like it because it is important to have one you do like that you can grab on the go!

I swear I have HATED all Protein Drinks but I got this again today to see if it was just a fluke & nope! Still delish! If you like a chai latte you'll like it! It's not thick it's kind of the consistency of Water. Try it!! Also, it's a ready-to-drink, not a powder.

Yeah all other RTDs are just disgusting, bleachh! But this one, I swear, if you are a visual eater, just take this and pop it into one of those reusable Starbucks cups that looks like the kind they serve iced drinks in and you won't know the difference! Especially if you tap a bit of cinnamon or nutmeg on it with a squirt of SF whip! =)

I went through a phase where MM was my favorite but now I can't stand it. It goes in cycles if you drink the shakes long enough! Nowadays I mix my unflavored, vanilla or chocolate powder with tea or coffee every morning - sometimes over ice and sometimes not. Sometimes I used flavored coffee or a spiced tea, and sometimes I jazz it up with a little flavored Syrup, too. It's the easiest way by far to get my Protein in each day and I've been drinking at least one shake a day for 20 months.

Anyway, if you get tired of paying for RTD or if you get ready to try powders again in the future it's an option! I use Integrated supplements (they have my favorite unflavored out of more than half a dozen I've tried) but I'm sure there's a brand out there you can tolerate. For now, enjoy that fact that you've found a shake you actually like!

Yep, this just goes for RTD's, overall my favorite is a Protein Powder called Tera's whey, an organic dark cocoa. I mix that with a little Click - the espresso Protein powder, some almond or hemp milk, and a spash of SF Torani Syrup. Put it all in my Starbucks to-go cup and noone would ever know the difference!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
