No offense but why would you even think about taking diet pills if you went through with the surgery?? Diet pills are something that I am sure most of i us tried BEFORE we thought about Bariatric Surgery. I wouldnt recommend taking any diet pills with this surgery and im sure most of the rest of the people who have actually been sleeved (i am not until this summer) would agree.

In all honesty I would say wait a bit longer. I wasn't cleared for anything I wanted until about 3 or 4 months post op.. In my opinoin I would wait until at least then when ur stomach is a bit more healed and able to handle the pills.

Now I gotta ask why u want to take the diet pills? Do u feel u arent losing enough weight?

If u feel u arent losing enough weight you may want to take a look at ur food or liquid choices to see if you might be adding in extra calories somewhere. Also u may be in a stall and not losing for that reason. Just a few helpful suggestions. Good luck.

Well IF they worked then there would be no real reason to be sleeved. They are for the most part harmless but being unfamiliar with what this particular brand and type are I would consult your doc about it first.

Thank you for your question DJ. I am sure that you weren't the only person who had this on their mind. Feel free to ask more questions whenever you are ready.

Why? Just drink some nice green tea. It is good for you. The sleeve means no more diet pills. I just lost 4 pounds from Friday to Tuesday. If you eat right, it will come off scary fast sometimes.

I know it seems crazy to take that stuff post op but I'm interested in HCG injections even though I'm losing quickly (10 lbs this week!!) but its not for weight loss....I've heard that it targets your fat in certain areas where the majority of your weight is & you will lose from that area specifically....I've seen this with my own eyes on a couple friends & I would love to see my stomach go asap!! I'd ask your Dr but beware - that green tea stuff killed my stomach during my diet days....like the sweats, keel over, run to the bathroom kill....yikes!!

I saw them talking about HCG on Dr. Drew today. I can't do 500 cals now, but maybe after I'm sleeved. That sounds like a good idea if for whatever reason I've tried all that I could and I still can't lose/slow loser. I'm willing to try anything that is safe and won't mess with my sleeve. I've tried xenadrine, and hydroxycut without the ephedrine and although it worked I got crazy headaches. I wouldn't DARE do those again. I also tried some other pill that gave me the shakes. It was crazy. I wonder how colon cleansers react on the intestines, and the tummy. Being blocked up doesn't feel too good.

There is a product out there called Raspberry Ketones. Its a metabolism stimulator. This is my theory being that we are sleeved. If we take

White Kidney Bean Extract 600mg

Chitosan 400mg

Betaine HCL 200mg

Bromelin 50mg

blend designed to block both carbohydrate and fat absorbtion, while at the same time aiding the body in the digestion of Protein. The unique combination of White Kidney Bean Extract and Chitosan will effectively block the assimilation of carbs and fats into the body. Bromelin and Betaine HCL are enzymes that aid in the digestion of Protein and create a synergestic effect to the already potent fat and carb blocker.

+

L-Carnitine is essential for the transport of fatty acids into the cellular organelle, mitochondrion, for conversion into energy by oxidation. It has a structure similar to that of amino acids and is formed from L-lysine and L-methionine.

+

Magnesium Aspartate

Potassium Aspartate

Heptaminol HCL

Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP)

Uridine Triphosphate

Sodium Selenite

Cyanacobalamin (B12)

Together these are an effective aid in the body’s fat loss, muscle growth and cardiovascular system improvements. It achieves this by stimulating the metabolic oxidation and energy transformation processes.

Its alot of stuff to buy but its all in liquid form so you dont have any pills to worry about. You dont have to worry about heartburn which I always get from diet pills.

If anyone knows of anything better please enlighten me. My ears are always open.

I saw them talking about HCG on Dr. Drew today.

Did they mention as to what Real HCG is made out of? A womans placenta. Kinda gross imho. As a man I will pass on that. That idea just doesnt jive with me. But the Doc does want me to take it to up my testosterone production. Imagine that.

For the most part it does work as long as its prescribed. Otc is fake

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
