I am super excited, I have booked my surgery and my flight with Dr. Kelly for May 10th! anyone else having their surgery that day? My plane ticket is purchased, and everything is ready to go. :D I will be traveling alone, which kind of scares me. Anyone else traveling alone? or have traveled alone?

Do you mind me where you are travelling from, or what state? I may end up being a sleeve buddy to you. I am pretty sure I am going with Dr Kelly. Just need to fill out the forms & figure out a date!

I just had tonsillectomy & uvullectomy last week though, so in huge amount of pain right now. Have to drink Water & just hurts to do it. :(

So waiting until this surgery is over & I am feeling better, before I book with Dr Kelly.

I would also be travelling alone, from NJ. So would love to have a sleeve buddy there to meet up with!

Congratulations! I don't think you will regret it at all. I went back to work today and am feeling great just 10 days after my sleeve. Never once threw up, had the slimeys (not sure what they are and don't want to know)no pain. I'm just dying to get to the mushie food stage. Never thought I would be craving a scrambled egg!

Lol DDFin I bet after so much liquid you would be craving eggs. That is going to be the hardest thing for me I think, I love crunchy stuff, even healthy crunchy like carrots and cucumbers! Thank you for your good wishes and your willingness to encourage and share your experience. Good luck going back to work!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
